Do you need to be a dancer to do Barre?

"Pilates is the complete

co-ordination of Mind, Body and Spirit,"

"Don't let the fear of falling keep you from flying."

"Yoga is not about touching your toes.  It is what you learn on the way down"

"The mind, when housed in a healthy body, possesses a glorious sense of power"

"When your legs are shaking.  Your muscles are changing."

"The mind is like water, it has to be still for you to see the world as it truly is"

Pilates

A typical Pilates class will tone, stretch & strengthen every inch of the body. Each class will aim to include a spinal warm-up/mobilization, followed by exercises to work the upper body, mid-back, abdominals & lower body including the legs and glutes. The session will end with some gentle stretching.  Let's just say the WHOLE body is used throughout the session.
Each exercise will have different levels of difficulty and it is up to you which you decide to choose.

Yoga

I teach both a Gentle & Dynamic Flow Yoga Class and both Yoga styles aim to connect your Mind, Body & Breath.  Each style will start with bringing awareness to the Mind, Body & Breath, followed by a warm-up which will either consist of Sun Salutations or body mobilisations & stretches.  The session will then go on to incorporating standing postures, forward & backbends, twists, balances & inversions, and finally ending the session with a relaxation or Savasana (usually everyone's favourite bit!)

Barre

Barre

Barre is the ultimate workout that really does everything! You can get your fix of toning, cardio, stretching, resistance & bodyweight training and then you mix in some super motivating energetic music.  All movements are to the beat of the music & don't worry if you think you're not very coordinated, Jasmine is here to help you throughout the class. The session begins with a warm-up, we then move to the barre where we work the legs, butt & arms, finally to the mat to work the arms, abs & stretches.

Aerial Yoga/Pilates

If you really want to experience the feeling of flying then Aerial Yoga & Pilates is totally for you.

In both Aerial Yoga & Aerial Pilates, we take all the same exercises and postures that you would normally do on the Mat/Floor, but we then use the Aerial Swing to help, support, and enhance your experience.  The swing can bring a sense of weightlessness and release through the whole body.

The most amazing thing about Aerial is because you're having so much FUN you forget you're even exercising!

Pilates Reformer

The Reformer is a FANTASTIC bit of specialized equipment that can really enhance the experience of a normal Pilates Mat Class.

The Reformer has springs & straps attached to a carriage that moves horizontally up & down, and when you change the spring tension it can change the difficulty of the exercise/movement.

An amazing aspect of using the reformer is that it can be used to show imbalances in the body, this is especially useful if you are recovering from an injury or have certain postural imbalances.

Aqua Yoga

What do you get when you combine Yoga postures and take them into the pool?  You get a totally different experience from what you have on the mat!  The water acts as a way to support those who may struggle with standing postures but the water can also add an extra challenge by giving extra resistance when moving between postures and sometimes is a little cheeky and tries to push you over when you least expect it!
You will see familiar yoga postures in the water but they will be done slightly differently so we can keep your head above water.

Personal Training

Personal training does not mean me standing over your and shouting instructions like a crazy sergeant major!  Unless that's something you want me to do?  Your session is completely personal to you, we can have a little chat and discuss what things/areas you would like to focus on - Strength, Flexibility, Pilates, Yoga, Relaxation, it could be anything!  The great thing about personal training is that you have a say in WHEN your session is and WHAT you're going to do.

Personal Training can be on a 1-1 basis but it can also be on a 2-1 or even a small Group Basis if you fancy some company.
